KHA Beagle of the Year

Rules

You must be a Kentucky Houndsmen Association member before the first days cast.

A Hound must compete in two of the four events to be eligible to win series.

Events

The 2026 Series Events will include;

NKC/ARHA Little Pack KY State
Hazard, KY March 7th-8th, 2026
NKC/ARHA Little Pack KHA Benefit
Hartford, KY May 15th-16th, 2026
NKC/ARHA Little Pack Shriner Benefit
Hartford, KY October 2nd-3rd, 2026
NKC/ARHA Little Pack Grand National
Russell Spring, KY October 10th,11th & 12th, 2026

Obtaining Points

Points will be awarded to hounds owned by KHA members who place in the top ten at the hunts listed above in the Open, Champion and Grand Champion Class.

1st - 10pts
2nd - 9pts
3rd - 8pts
4th - 7pts
5th - 6pts
6th - 5pts
7th - 4pts
8th - 3pts
9th - 2pts
10th - 1 pt

Tie Breaker

1. Hound with most wins in events listed above

2. Hound with highest average placement in events listed above

3. Flip of coin

Awards

The Highest Placing Hounds owned by a KHA member in each class at each of the above events will receive a trophy or an award provided by KHA.

Youth Nationals

The Bull Run Beagle Club, will once again be hosting the Youth National Beagle Show and Hunt on April 11, 2026.
