KHA Beagle of the Year

• The winner of the Beagle of the Year will receive an embroidered jacket and possibly additional prizes for the series year.

• The Highest Placing Hounds owned by a KHA member in each class at each of the below events will receive a trophy or an award provided by KHA.

You must be a Kentucky Houndsmen Association member before the first days cast.

A Hound must compete in two of the four events to be eligible to win series.

The 2026 Series Events will include;

• NKC/ARHA Little Pack KY State Hazard, KY March 7th-8th
• NKC/ARHA Little Pack KHA Benefit Hartford, KY May 15th-16th
• NKC/ARHA Little Pack Shriner Benefit Hartford, KY October 2nd-3rd
• NKC/ARHA Little Pack Grand National Russell Spring, KY October 10th,11th & 12th

Points will be awarded to hounds owned by KHA members who place in the top ten at the hunts listed above in the Open, Champion and Grand Champion Class. 

• 1st     -   10pts 
• 2nd   -   9pts 
• 3rd    -   8pts 
• 4th    -   7pts 
• 5th    -   6pts
• 6th    -   5pts
• 7th    -   4pts
• 8th    -   3pts
• 9th    -   2pts
• 10th   -   1 pt

Tie Breaker 

1. Hound with most wins in events listed above 

2. Hound with highest average placement in events listed above 

3. Flip of coin

The Bull Run Beagle Club, will once again be hosting the Youth National Beagle Show and Hunt on April 11, 2026. 

Awards for this event are sponsored by the Kentucky Houndsmen Association.
