"DEDICATED TO PROTECTING THE HERITAGE OF KENTUCKY HOUNDSMEN"
The Kentucky Houndsmen Association represents dog owners across the state, working directly with state and local lawmakers to protect our rights and preserve the tradition of hunting with dogs. We support leaders who stand for the same priorities we do—regardless of political affiliation—because protecting our way of life comes first.
Our relationship with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife (KDFW) is built on mutual support and respect. We actively work to strengthen the connection between dog owners and KDFW while promoting responsible hunting and the purchase of hunting licenses—the lifeblood of conservation and wildlife management in Kentucky.
Houndsmen are a driving force in Kentucky’s hunting industry—an industry that plays a vital role in the state’s economy. From dog food and veterinary care to equipment, fuel, and lodging, houndsmen contribute millions of dollars each year.
Hunters travel from across Kentucky and the United States to participate in:
This is more than a tradition—it’s fuel for the economy.
The future of hunting with dogs depends on the next generation. Without continued involvement, not only would KDFW feel the impact, but Kentucky’s economy and outdoor heritage would suffer as well. We are committed to ensuring that doesn’t happen.
Getting youth involved in the outdoors is one of our top priorities.
We proudly support and contribute to youth programs across Kentucky, both financially and through volunteer efforts, including:
By investing in youth, we are building the future of hunting in Kentucky—strengthening the foundation of beagle, squirrel, fox, bird, and coon hunting communities across the state.
Stand with Kentucky Houndsmen...
Help us protect hunting with dogs, support conservation, and ensure the next generation carries this tradition forward.
